In our evening service of Sunday 5th November we started on the fifth major block of Jesus' teaching in Matthew's Gospel and thought about what he says about the impending destruction of the temple (Matthew 24:1-35). But we also saw words of promise and hope as Jesus spoke about the Gospel being preached across the known world and the place of glory and honour he was going to be given following his death and resurrection.
