For the early church, for many believers around the world today, suffering for Jesus was reality - but less so for us. Why do you think this is?

I think this is because of the place where we live- people are not opposed to faith or religion unlike in other countries. Are there any other reasons?

I wonder whether it's the lack of impact / challenge our faith (speaking generally here about Christians in this country / the West) actually has. For a long time - although less so now - the church has been willing to keep faith "private" and so it is easier for others to ignore us.

Is it to do with how much we are actually being "salt and light"?

Possibly but I think people (generally) are more tolerant of the Christian faith in our country. I guess people here don't see Christians & Christianity as a threat but in other countries this is how our faith / religion is perceived. I think we can always be more open about our faith & can do more to encourage people to listen.
