Jesus sends two of his followers to get a donkey, he rides into Jerusalem to a rapturous welcome, and then he slips out again unnoticed.
They had done what Jesus commanded them to do but they may have been left wondering what it was all for, what did it mean?
Are we simply prepared to follow and be obedient to Jesus even if we don’t understand why he wants us to do something? Are we more interested in being “in the know” or being obedient?

Questions to think about:
- What challenges you most in the attitudes, actions and behaviours of the two disciples sent to get the donkey for Jesus?
- What are you able to do to encourage others to appreciate and welcome Jesus for themselves?
- Even if we don’t understand what Jesus is doing, even when he asks us to do things that seem pointless, are we prepared to be obedient to him because we trust him and love him?
