For Paul the message seems simple:
Those who believe in Jesus are in a battle against spiritual forces which we can’t win on our own, but we can be assured of victory if we make use of what God has provided for us.
How do you respond to these claims and challenges? How familiar are you with the armour God provides?

Questions to think about:
- Struggle is against dark and evil forces (Ephesians Paul makes it clear that we will be under spiritual attack and we can’t withstand this in our own strength? How do you feel about this?
- Paul is encouraging believers “to stand” – not to attack or move forward. Why do you think this is? What does it mean in the reality of our daily lives?
- How much do we pray, how can we pray more effectively, for those who are speaking to people about Jesus (v19-20)?
