As the early church tried to understand the significance of who Jesus was and what He had accomplished, as they tried to work out what it meant to live as followers of Jesus, as they met together, worshipped together, served together they had many questions to which they needed answers.

And in the letters of the New Testament we find many explanations, challenges, encouragements as church leaders tried to guide these early believers in what was important for them to understand and do.

The central focus of these letters is the person of Jesus and the transformation He was making in people’s lives – words to encourage, words to lead to praise & worship, words to call for unity, words to show the importance of service.

We will focus on a passage from one of these letters to get a glimpse into what was being said – and think about how this should continue to change our lives today.
