Over the next few weeks we’re going to be thinking about what it means to be God’s people and what He calls us to do. Something that many of us have a good understanding of but we’ll be exploring it again and seeing something of what it means.

This evening we’ll be looking at two times where God had shown Himself to people in powerful ways, ways that couldn’t be denied, and had changed their lives forever.

As we look at their stories we’ll challenge ourselves as to how much we really know this God, how much He is at the centre of who we are.

Readings: Deuteronomy 4:32-29; Acts 4:1-22

Some questions to think about:

  • What are the things that threaten your commitment to God? How do you resist these?
  • Do you find yourself under pressure to compromise the claims of Jesus? If so, from where do these pressures come?
  • How can we hold onto the unique claims of Jesus in the face of completing claims of other religions – while showing love to those of other faiths?
