In the first of the 10 commandments God tells His people that they shouldn’t have any other gods before Him – a demand that He be recognised as supreme, as unique, as the one they worship and serve.
In a world where we are encouraged to “do our own thing”, to be in charge of our own lives, how do we respond to God as He calls on us to have Him at the very centre of who we are?
What things or people are we allowing to have the place that God deserves? Are we willing to displace them and to invite God to have the place that is rightfully His?
