Having called the people to recognise His supremacy and uniqueness, God moves on to speak about images or idols – things that people would worship instead of Him, things that people might make to represent Him.

And God is totally clear – this is not acceptable, not something that His people should be doing.

But, unfortunately, His people went against this on many occasions and rejected God after all He had done for them.

We might not make metal images but do we worship things as opposed to worshipping God?
