Over the next few weeks we’re going to be thinking about the 10 Commandments – and to help us prepare for that we’re thinking about what Jesus referred to as the greatest commandment “to love the Lord your God”.
This raises all sorts of questions – who is in charge of our lives; who do we think God is; what sort of relationship do we have with him; what does it really mean to love him?
How do you respond to those questions; and are you happy with your response?
Readings: Matthew 22:34-40; Deuteronomy 6:1-5
Questions to think about:
- What does God being “Lord” mean to you?
- What challenges do you find in loving God with the total commitment being called for in these verses?
- What steps could you take to do it more?
