God is described as being “light” – not just in the sense that He is the source of light (although that is true) but in a moral sense as well. He is totally good and opposed to everything that is evil and sinful.
And his people are called to live as “children of light” (John 12:36; Ephesians 5:8; 1 Thessalonians 5:5).
Are you living as a “child of light” today?
Reading: 1 John 1:1-10
Questions to think about:
- How does 1 John 1:1-4 encourage you, excite you, challenge you?
- How do you respond to the implications (in verses 5-7) of walking in either light or darkness?
- How do you approach the idea of confessing sins and finding forgiveness in Jesus as outlined in verses 8-10? Does this have a regular place in your life?
