Jesus encourages his followers to pray that God will provide what they need each day.
This suggests a close relationship and one where God is involved in the daily reality of our lives. Is that your understanding and experience of God?
Are there things that hold you back from praying for God’s help? Or, on the other hand, is that the only thing you talk with God about and ignore the need for a real relationship with Him?

To think about:
- What is the equivalent of “daily bread” in our context today? Are there things we rely on God for?
- Do we really see God as a generous God – one who wants to supply our needs? Share any experiences when you have felt God doing this for you.
- What different ways does God work to address these needs? How can we be involved?
