As Paul finishes his letter, he thinks back about the key things he has been talking about and focuses on the central importance of the death of Jesus on the cross. This is what he gets excited about, this is what he boasts in, this is what he has found gives purpose and meaning in life. And he is prepared to suffer to tell others about it.
How about us?
Reading: Galatians 6:11-18
Questions to think about:
- What sort of things do Christians do today to avoid being “persecuted for the cross of Christ” (v12)?
- Paul was committed to not boasting in anything other than the cross of Christ (v14). How about us?
- How excited are we about being part of the “new creation” (v15)?
- Paul closes this letter with a wonderful blessing (v18). How can we bless each other?
