Jesus called people to be his disciples – those who were committed to him, followed his teaching, submitted to his authority. And he commanded them to go and make other disciples – to carry on what he had started.
How should we do this today? And how can we engage with and support each other in doing that? How – in particular – should the small groups we are involved in (or could be involved in) help us live our lives as fully committed followers of Jesus?
Reading: Matthew 28:16-20
Questions to think about:
- How would you describe the role of a disciple of Jesus? Is it something we are called to be today?
- How do you respond to the call of Jesus to “go and make disciples”?
- How do / could small groups – in whatever form – help us in living as disciples and making disciples?
