In this passage Paul speaks about “a mystery” – something that had been kept hidden for many years but had now been revealed to the people. And this mystery was the amazing reality that Jesus Christ had come, not just to the world but to live in people’s lives and that this was a guarantee of their eternal destiny in God’s presence (Col 1:27).
And Paul goes on to speak about everything worth knowing – all the “treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col 2:3) – being found in Christ. Where are we seeking real wisdom and knowledge, is it in Jesus or in something / someone else?
And are we, like Paul, prepared to give all that we are and all that we have (Col 1:28-29) so that others will come to know the wonder of this relationship as well?

- What does it mean to you that “Christ is in you” (1:27)?
- Paul speaks about “rejoicing in suffering” (1:24). What do you think he means and is this something you are able to do?
- What “treasures of wisdom and knowledge” have you found in Jesus Christ this week (2:2-3)?
